Today was Heavy Trash Pickup day in our neighborhood, and so there were some great pickings by the curbside last night. One of our neighbors had mounds and mounds of items to throw away, and I couldn't pass up the chance to search for treasure. I rescued several things from the landfill, including this painted tray, a set of glass cups and saucers, a red-and-white place mat, and a tin tea pot.My son and I had a nice tea party with my finds this morning.

What great finds! I love how your rescue turned into a beautiful shared activity with your son. What a great lesson to pass on about rewards of recycling.
I LOVE finding great treasures, and that was a beautiful one. I am dying to go to the thrift store today, but dog gone it, it is going to cost probably $4 in gas to get there. grrrr....
